14 December 2009 - Jean-Luc Peters has made available two sets of textures for the Super Etendard of Romain Lucas.  One is of the Prototype scheme worn during development and the other is of an aircraft assigned to Flottille 11F.  Only the textures are included so you will also need to download the SEM.

8 December 2009 - Jean-Luc Peters has put together an alternative to the 2D instrument panel included in Danny Garnier's FSX update of the Super Etendard by Romain Lucas.  This update also corrects the crash-to-desktop (CTD) error.

Beat Schaffner reminded me that I had not yet posted my annual "Mirage in Snow" image and Season Greeting on the website.  I had already been looking for a new image and he reminded me that he had sent a few last year.  So I have posted an image of a Swiss Air Force Mirage IIIS.

5 December 2009 - Zsolt Beleznay has painted a new set of textures for the Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson.  The texture set represents a Mirage F1M of the Ejercito del Aire Español in TigerMeet colors.

3 December 2009 - Kirk Olsson sent a set of replacement canopy textures to make all of his Mirage F1 versions more compatible with FSX.

28 November 2009 - "Time flies when you're having fun."  It is hard to believe that 10 years ago this week I started this website.  It began on a Thanksgiving vacation weekend with a handful of aircraft, a couple instrument panels, and a few scenery files.  Since then it has grown to over 500 aircraft and repaints, nearly 100 different instrument panels, and scenery covering Mirage activity all around the world, and much more.  But more importantly I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people who share my enthusiasm for the Mirage. Thank you all for making this website what it is today.

16 November 2009 - Jonathan Hilaire has made available two sets of textures for the Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson.  The first is a Mirage F1CR of BA112 2/33 'Savoie' at Reims-Champagne AB.  The second (below) is a Mirage F1CT in the colors of EC 1/30 'Alsace' at Colmar-Meyenheim AB.

8 November 2009 - I have finished the gunsight for the Skysim Mirage III/5.  It is based on the C.S.F. 97K described in the Mirage IIIE Flight Manual.  Both navigation and combat modes are included.

6 November 2009 - Guy LeVasseur has finished another in his series of repaints for the Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson.  This time he has painted a Mirage F1JA in the colors of the Fuerza Aerea Ecuatoriana.

31 October 2009 - The GMAX Académie have completed the release of their Mirage 2000 series.  All packages include new sound files, and new instrument panels.

21 October 2009 - Guy LeVasseur has finished another in his series of repaints for the Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson.  This time he has painted an Armée de l'Air Mirage F1C in the colors of EC 1/10 "Valois" at Creil AB.  Please read these installation instructions.

15 October 2009 - Zsolt Beleznay of Hungary has painted two more texture sets for the Skysim Mirage III/5 package.  The first is of an overall pink scheme originally painted on a Mirage IIIC of EC 2/10 "Seine".  The second is a fictional Swiss Mirage 5 in an overall purple scheme similar to the Milka brand chocolates.  Only the textures are included in these sets so you will also need the base package.

11 October 2009 - Danny Garnier has updated the SEM of Romain Lucas for use with FSX.  The panel.cfg has been adapted for FSX compatibility and uses more recent gauges.

30 September 2009 - Eric Marciano wrote to let me know that he has been authorized by the GMAX Académie to upgrade one of their Mirage 2000 panels and provide it on his website.  He has included his radar gauge and the Mirage HUD from SimScape in the Mirage 2000C-RDI panel.  I've tried it and it works great.  This is a similar system to what is included in their Mirage 4000 package.

23 September 2009 - Carlos Gabriel has taken the Cristiano Magnani Mirage IIIEBR repaints for the Cheetah C of Thinus Pretorius and says they work in FSX.  See if it works for you.  The documentation fails to credit any of the original authors.

22 September 2009 - Guy LeVasseur (alias VaporZ) has released the first in a series of repaints for Kirk Olsson's Mirage F1C.  The series will focus on the F1 during the early years of operation with the Armée de L'Air when they wore large colorful tail markings.  The first is for EC 3/30 "Lorraine" while based at Reims-Champagne AB.  Please read these installation instructions.

19 September 2009 - Jacques Botha has released a new FSX scenery for AFB Overberg (FAOB) in South Africa.  AFB Overberg is the home of the SAAF TFDC and is used for testing aircraft and aviation components.

7 September 2009 - Philippe Ballarini of Aérobibliothèque in France wrote to let me know that additional copies of Volume 1 of the Mirage III series featuring the Mirage IIIC/B will being be printed soon by DTU.  I have copies of all three volumes printed so far and it is truly an incredible reference source.  You can read a review here from 2002 and more information is available at Aérobibliothèque (en Français).

24 August 2009 - Roland Laborie (Rollus13) and Jean Pierre Bourgeois (BeeGee) have released their Mirage 2000-5 for FSX.  It borrows a little in concept from previous releases but is now fully FSX compatible with self-shadowing, a very sophisticated instrument panel and virtual cockpit, and works best with the FSX Acceleration Add-on installed.  16 texture sets are included covering a mix of Armée de l'Air units, mostly special occasion schemes, and foreign operators.  There are several videos on YouTube demonstrating the features.

19 August 2009 - Nick Black has released the fourth in a series of AI aircraft/scenery packages for his AI Mirage F1.  This package, distributed via MAIW, features the current Royal Jordanian Air Force Mirage F1CJ, F1EJ, and F1BJ as well as Shaheed Muwaffaq Airbase (with additonal AI aircraft).  The Mirage are finished in the three-tone desert camouflage scheme worn by the Royal Jordanian Air Force.

3 July 2009 - Danny Garnier has made another attempt at bringing the Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson into FSX.  This new attempt uses more recent gauges which results in fewer messages when loading the aircraft.  The cockpit glass is still black and my copy of FSX SP2 closes down when a new view is selected.  Perhaps you will have better results?

30 June 2009 - Morné Pieters has released a set of textures for the Mirage F1AZ of Kirk Olsson.  These textures are of an interim three-tone scheme worn by a single Mirage F1AZ of the South Africa Air Force during the Border War.  This scheme evolved into the final scheme worn by the F1AZ.  Only the textures are included.

29 June 2009 - Michal Lubiscak has updated the configuration file for the Mirage 2000N by Roland Laborie/Jonathan Hilaire.  He has updated weights, flight dynamics, fuel tanks, engine parameters, contact points, and more.

23 June 2009 - Jens-Ole Kjølberg has painted a new set of textures for the Skysim Mirage III/5 package.  The texture set represents a Mirage 5BA of the Belgium Air Force in the original prototype bare metal finish.  Only the textures are included so you will also need the base package.

14 June 2009 - I have painted up two Mirage F1CT texture sets representing EC 1/13 "Artois" and EC 3/13 "Auvergne".  Both units operated the F1CT for less than one year each during 1992-93.

8 June 2009 - Nick Black has released the second in a series of AI aircraft/scenery packages for his AI Mirage F1.  This package, distributed via MAIW, features the current Ejército del Aire Mirage F1M and F1BM of Ala 14 as well as a very complete Los Llanos Air Base near Albacete, Spain.  The Mirage are finished in the current overall gray scheme in additional to a few wearing colorful commemorative markings.

27 May 2009 - Many of the aircraft and other files here at the Mirage4FS website were linked to Avsim, one of the major Flight Simulator news and file library sites on the web.  Earlier this month a hacker effectively destroyed that website.  As a result some of the links on this site will give Not Found messages.  I will be going through the files searching for these messages but if you want a file before I fix the link please e-mail me and I will fix that link next.  Hopefully AVSIM will be back in operation soon.

26 May 2009 - I have finished a repaint of the Mirage III/5 package by Skysim in the colors of EC 2/3 'Champagne'.  Only the textures are included so you will also need the base package.

20 May 2009 - Matt Levi (alias "jeansy") of Australia has painted several new sets of textures for the Skysim Mirage III/5 package.  The texture sets represent the Mirage IIIO of the Royal Australian Air Force wearing the tail art of 2 OCU, 75 Sqn, 76 Sqn, and 3 Sqn in the 1970s camouflage scheme.  Only the textures are included in these sets so you will also need the base package.

13 May 2009 - Pierre Marchadier and Jonathan Hilaire of GMAX Académie Design (the GMAX Académie) have released their VSTOL Mirage III V.  There are eight different external load configurations ranging from clean to carrying external tanks, Matra Magics, Exocet missile, etc.  The package includes the two prototype schemes as well as 22 additional "what if" textures for Aéronavale, Armée de l'Air, and several foreign operators.  An instrument panel by Jean-Pierre Langer is also included.

12 May 2009 - Morné Pieters has painted some individual schemes for the Mirage F1AZ.  These represent the aircraft that flew in a five-ship formation at the 1 Sqn closing ceremony held at AFB Hoedspruit.  He has also painted the solo aircraft that flew at the same event.  These are textures only so you will also need the original Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson.

5 May 2009 - Happy Cinco de Mayo!  (It's a big deal where I live.)  Morné Pieters has finished a set of textures for the Mirage F1AZ of Kirk Olsson.  The aircraft is painted with the white nose and horizontal tail applied during air combat maneuvering exercies.  These are textures only so you will also need the original Mirage F1 of Kirk Olsson.

26 March 2009 - I have finished a repaint of the Mirage III/5 package by Skysim in the colors of EC 2/3 'Champagne' in bare metal.

23 March 2009 - Early last month Morné Pieters asked me to put him in touch with Kirk Olsson.  I did so and the results have now been released as two packages.  For Kirk's FS2004 Mirage F1AZ Morné has painted a texture set for SAAF F1AZ No. 229.

This Mirage F1AZ was the 'mascot' of No. 1 Sqd and retained the original sand and green camouflage colors.  It is featured in the farewell video from the Vlamgat 2005 by Dick Lord/Combat360 in CD format.  A good book and even better in this multimedia format.

Morné also worked with Kirk to produce a new Super Mirage F1 demonstrator in clean configuration with no bombs, missiles, or tanks.  This aircraft also includes a revised flight model for the Russian SMR-95 engine (based on the RD-33 of the Mig-29), new engine sounds, and new heat haze and afterburner effects.  Also included are four texture sets.

20 March 2009 - Lucian Lie, alias Yago9, specializes in photo-real texture repaints.  He has applied his craft to the new Mirage III/5 package of Skysim.  The texture set represents a Mirage IIIS of the Swiss Air Force.

14 March 2009 - Michel Gérard has sent an article and photographs describing a Squadron Exchange in 1976 between EC 1/2 'Cigognes' and RAF N°1 Sqn that resulted in a Pink T.2 Harrier.  It is very interesting reading with many photos.

10 March 2009 - Patrice Grange has released a new version of his Mirage IIIE.  This latest version features the updated virtual cockpit and instrument panel used in his Mirage IIIR.  The markings are of Michel Tanguy's aircraft in the comics "Cap Zero".

20 February 2009 - If you aren't completely happy with the Mirage F1 sound set included with Kirk Olsson's Mirage F1 you might be interested in a new set just released by Christoffer Petersen of Turbine Sound Studios.  This FS2004 set includes new sounds for every aspect of the Mirage F-1.  You can preview the sounds in this video at YouTube.

13 February 2009 - Mark Harper has issued an update to his Mirage III/5 package.  In addition to correcting a couple cockpit gauge items the update includes two additional "bonus re-paint models” (external models for early Mirage IIIRS and late model (below) Mirage IIIRS repaints), two new textures for existing versions, reworked control surface animations, additional weapons, revised sound cone config file, and simplified installation.  For more information and to download visit Skysim.  A Paint Kit is also available for repainters (be sure to read the instructions).

8 February 2009 - Antonio Diaz has repainted the Mirage F1C of Kirk Olsson as an F1EE in the colors of the 462 Sqn. of the Ejercito del Aire (Spanish Air Force) based in Las Palmas AB, Canary Islands.  Only the textures are included so you will also need the base F1V25.zip file.

6 February 2009 - Mark Walsh has repainted the F1CR and F1B from Nick Black's French AF AI package in the camouflage and markings of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF).  Included are six Mirage F1BQ and 10 Mirage F1EQ.  Iran was not an original operator of any Mirage aircraft.  These defected from Iraq during the First Gulf War.

30 January 2009 - Jens-Ole Kjølberg has painted a new set of textures for Skysim Mirage III/5 package.  The texture set represents a Mirage IIIEE of the Ejército del Aire.  Only the textures are included in these sets so you will also need the base package.

22 January 2009 - Jens-Ole Kjølberg has painted additional sets of textures for the new Skysim Mirage III/5 package.  Three of the sets represent the IAI Nesher fighter during the October 1973 war before the identfication triangles were added.  The fourth set is of the Egyptian Mirage 5SDE as it appeared in France before delivery wearing Royal Saudi Air Force markings.  Only the textures are included in these sets so you will also need the base package.

16 January 2009 - While helping with testing the Skysim Mirage III/5 package Jens-Ole Kjølberg has been painting Mirage IIIEZ and Mirage IIIRZ in the colors of the South African Air Force.  He has also written a history of the types use by the SAAF.  You can read the article and download the textures here.

15 January 2009 - Despite many obstacles along the way Mark Harper is finally able to release his Mirage III/5 package through Skysim.  The project first began in early 2007.  But on the plus side, as time has gone on, the package has increased in models available (nine aircraft with three instrument panels types) and external stores available (15 possible fuel tanks, missiles, bombs in various user-defined combinations).

6 January 2009 - Pablo Fernández de Bobadilla has released a new scenery for Albecete - Los Llanos Air Base (LEAB) and the surrounding areas of Albecete, Spain.  Los Llanos is the home of the 141 and 142 Sqds of the 14th Wing (Ala de Casa 14) operating the Mirage F1.
